KCC DNA
There are four main elements that make up the DNA of KCC and help distinguish us within the diverse landscape of today's churches.

STATEMENT
of
FAITH
The statements below are foundational for everything we do and believe in at KCC and they align with our wider community of Canadian Baptists of Western Canada. We also recognize that the language in these statements is layered with historical and cultural nuance. Therefore, our values and practices show how we understand and live them in our community today.
-
The sovereignty, love, and grace of God, the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit in creation, providence, revelation, redemption and final judgment.
-
The divine inspiration of Holy Scripture and its entire trustworthiness and supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
-
The value of each human being as created by God. The universal sinfulness of humankind since the fall, which alienates all from God and subjects all to condemnation.
-
The full deity and humanity of the Lord Jesus Christ, the incarnate Son of God, whose substitutionary sacrifice is the sole ground of redemption from the guilt, penalty and power of sin.
-
The justification of the sinner by the grace of God through faith alone in Christ crucified and risen from the dead.
-
The illuminating, regenerating, indwelling and sanctifying work of God, the Holy Spirit, in the believer.
-
The church as set forth in the New Testament and understood historically by the Baptist community.
-
The expectation of the personal, visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ, our participation in the resurrection, and the hope of eternal life.

OUR
CORE
VALUES
Below is how our faith manifests in our mission statement and 5 core value statements that guide how we show up in our worship and kingdom building work.
"KCC strives to be a community of people in relationship with the Creator; fostering a space to belong; so that we may grow in our beliefs and become all that we are meant to be."
-
Be a community rooted in love, welcoming and accepting of all, caring and supportive of each other, encouraging each person's different and unique backgrounds, perspectives, and gifts, so that we may be all that God has created us to be.
-
Be a vibrant place of worship, seeking God and offering our prayers through music, art, and spoken word. We strive to make space for things that are good, true, and beautiful.
-
Make a positive change in the world; to help, support, love, and mutually serve each other, bringing hope and joy for lives all over our community, country, and world.
-
Maintain leadership as a diverse group of ordinary people who are doing their best to listen and respond to the needs of the church and community through a lens of love, open and welcoming to new ideas about living out that faith.
-
Create a safe place to challenge and grow in our beliefs about how to be in the world and in the community in a way that reflects the love of Christ.

NEED-
TO-
KNOWS
We are a radically welcoming, Christ-centred church, Baptist in denomination, and lean towards wonder, openness, and context in our theology. Within that general identity, there are a few things about who we are and what we believe that we think are important for people to know. These statements matter to us, and we want to get them right, so we're still refining them. Stay tuned.

THE
CBWC
KCC has had a long and beneficial relationship with the Canadian Baptists of Western Canada. This relationship has supported us, funded us, and contributed to who we have become. At the same time, we are not defined by this relationship. More on this soon.
